New Amateur Rider squad

Stabling company Scotts of Thrapston are offering two lucky riders a place on their development squad, aimed at amateur riders. The squad is being set up in partnership with Carlton Horse Trials at Carlton Cross Country in Bedfordshire as part of Scotts title sponsorship for 2010.

Scotts will select two riders to receive priority, half price places in a series of clinics run by Nick Turner and Caroline Moore, squad kit and free entry for the competition, worth in excess of £200 to each rider.

The clinics run over four sessions include both XC schooling, event preparation such as sport psychology, rider nutrition and a course walk.

Amateur riders often get overlooked when it comes to funded training and development opportunities. Most of these people will either have professional or family commitments, meaning they have trouble finding time for it too. But training is vital for amateur riders so they can enjoy their sport safely without losing days off work due to an injury or feeling disheartened after a mistake that could have been avoided through the correct training.

Scotts are welcoming applications from riders who are committed to improving their standards, whether new to BE competition structure or looking to progress up the ranks from BE80 to BE90, BE100 or BE Novice.
